Deleting your Sanad account
You can delete your account from the Sanad app, or from this page. Below is exactly what happens to your money, to your personal data, and to the records other members depend on.
What has to be settled first
Sanad refuses to delete an account that still holds money, or an obligation to other people. If any of these apply, we tell you exactly which one — and link you to the screen that fixes it.
- Money in your wallet
- Cash it out or send it. Every currency counts on its own: a balance in one is never netted off against another.
- A cash request still pending
- Wait for staff to approve it, or cancel it yourself.
- A seat in a pot that is still running
- Leave the pool or savings circle first, so the other members are not left waiting on a person who is gone.
- A pot you organize
- You are the only person who can release its pot. Close it, or hand it to another member, before you go.
What we delete
The moment the deletion goes through, we erase:
- Your first and last name.
- Your phone number — and it is released, so it can sign up again as a fresh account.
- Your date of birth.
- The push token for your device, so we can never notify you again.
- Every signed-in session. Anything still logged in is signed out on its next request.
What we keep, and why
Your transaction records stay. Your name comes off them.
Today
After deletion
This is not us quietly holding on to your data, and we would rather explain it than bury it. In Sanad no balance is a number we store and edit. Every balance — including the pot of every pot you ever paid into — is recalculated by adding up the transactions underneath it. Delete your rows and the money you contributed disappears from that sum: the pot shrinks, and the members still in that pot silently lose what you put in. So the rows stay, and the name comes off them.

The app checks exactly the same conditions as this page. If anything is unsettled it shows you precisely what — with a link straight to the screen that settles it.
